a little r&r is always appreciated, especially when you can spend it in hanalei.

in preparation for producing oodles of jewels for some north shore enterprises (yes, it's true, happy earth may be migrating north!), i'm treating myself to a little self-indulgent north shore weekend.

happy earth was featured in its very first real-deal photoshoot yesterday with two gorgeous horses, beautiful models, a vintage car and a coconut tree-lined driveway.

can't wait to see how how they turned out!

not happy earth

blue skies, prominent moon, velvet green mountains ...and... fishing line, plastic bottles, firecraker scraps.

these items are just a few of the many dangling near storm drains, threatening to enter the ocean on this glorious morning.

if there weren't bills to pay, i'd likely spend more time sitting underneath trees.

even those that are considered "dead" are still very much alive to me.

they all inspire creativity and enrich my soul.

upon spending as much time as possible in nature among many trees of late, my desire to expand happy earth designs along many different branches, including landscape artwork, has grown. what a joy it would be to know that others may bring a slice of the islands into their homes through avenues aside from sea glass and shell jewelry - especially those who live in places where nature is no longer abundant.

with a new studio to work in, i thought the timing couldn't be better to begin a re-introduction to painting (it's been years!). i found the perfect instructional book and the supplies are being gathered.

this is an exciting new journey for this newbie biz!
